Just like in those nail-biting moments when a team is “halfway there,” having the right support makes all the difference. I’m proud to be your local State Farm Agent based in Fort Dodge, IA, serving Webster County and the surrounding communities. Since 2006, my family and I have called Fort Dodge home. As a husband, dad of two, and avid outdoors man, I deeply appreciate the strong sense of community here. I graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School, continued my education at Iowa Central Community College, and earned my degree from Iowa State University—Go Cyclones!

With 13 years as a State Farm Agent and a team boasting over 60 years of combined insurance experience, we’re dedicated to providing personalized service that fits your unique needs. Beyond insurance, I’m actively involved in the Fort Dodge community as a member of the St. Edmond Catholic School Board and the St. Joseph the Worker club.

Over the years, our agency has been honored with awards such as the Messenger’s Reader Choice Award (Winner in 2025, 2023, 2022, 2017 and 2015, Finalist in 2024), Mitch was named a Fort Dodge 10 Under 40 recipient in 2016. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time outdoors with my family. Whether skiing, snowboarding, enjoying water sports, or cheering on our kids at their sporting events, we love making the most of every season.

Q: Why did you become an insurance agent? A: Not many kids dream of becoming an insurance agent, and I was no different. When my State Farm agent, Pat Reed, was retiring, he asked State Farm to reach out to me as a potential agent. At the time, I didn’t realize the fulfillment this journey would bring. Being able to talk with people about their dreams, work to protect them, and support them when life doesn’t go as planned has made this career incredibly rewarding.

Q: What kinds of insurance do you offer? A: While most people know we provide home and auto insurance, many don’t realize we also offer life insurance, key employee life insurance, and business/farm succession life insurance. Additionally, we provide coverage for businesses, farms, and workers’ compensation insurance to meet the needs of Fort Dodge and Webster County.

Q: Do you have a team of insurance professionals? How much experience do you have? A: I have 13 years of experience in the insurance industry, supported by a team with over 60 years of combined expertise. Every member of my team is licensed and committed to serving our customers with knowledge, care, and a passion for helping people understand their coverage.

Q: Do you offer anything other than insurance? A: Yes! We also provide a full suite of financial services, including assistance with financial services, utilizing industry-leading tools to help you reach your financial goals.
